Meet Jess - Pathlabber Spotlight
Meet Jessica Lewis - hitting home runs in softball and as a Campaign Analyst at Pathlabs.
How would you Summarize your life story in a few sentences?
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I'm the youngest of four kids, all of who loved sports. I was no different and fell in love with the game of softball. Growing up, I traveled all over the country to play in tournaments. This allowed me to visit some really cool places. It taught me that I can push myself far more than what I think is my limit. It brought a wide range of amazing people into my life that I wouldn't have met otherwise.
I played collegiate softball at the University of Montana where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems with a Certificate in Big Data Analytics. I attribute my love for numbers to softball, because it's a game of statistics. It's crazy how you can improve your batting average by knowing the percentages of what the next pitch will be based on your hitter’s count.
I married the love of my life and best friend in July 2021. We were high school sweethearts and he's been my biggest fan. Oh, and he works at Pathlabs also. SHOUT OUT JENSEN LEWIS. Okay, that's it!
What are your hobbies and passions?
Softball, books, and people. I love hosting people at my house and gathering people around a dinner table. I love to cook, especially Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas (hometown recipe).
What is your educational background?
Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems with a Certificate in Big Data Analytics.
How has your career led you to Pathlabs?
I knew I loved numbers because of softball. There are 121 statistics in softball and baseball, and knowing them gave me and my teammates a huge advantage in the game. Fast forward to college when I thought I wanted to be an accountant, I realized that technology and business interested me. The bond between them was why I chose to switch my major to MIS. Throughout the classes, you can probably guess that I enjoyed all of them, especially my Data Analytics courses. While completing my Certificate in Big Data Analytics, I took a Marketing Analytics course. This propelled me into a new sphere of all the marketing statistics I use today.
Why Pathlabs?
The industry is always changing and this company cares that its employees adapt to it. Pathlabs has amazing people that I knew I wanted to work with. I wanted to be a part of the team here in Missoula!
What excites you about the future?
I'm excited to get hands-on experience with the systems here. I'm also excited to be with a super collaborative team!
